Catgirl WIP 1

Catgirl WIP 1

So here is my first kit's WIP (Work in Progress). The name for kit is Catgirl in E2046, so I am going to just use that. Although title is WIP 1, I actually did some work few weeks ago, like removing the flash, sanding, and washing. Until yesterday, I thought I only sanded the area where I removed the flash, but turns out I need to sand the whole thing; of course, I need to sand the whole thing; how stupid I was. . .

So I spent one hour or so roughly sanding the kit last night. The kit only has 8 parts (if you count that tiny ribbon). It was very easy to sand; it didn't have any difficult area. I would like to tell you what girt of the sandpaper I used, but I don't know. I just used a piece I cut off N months ago for sanding a gunpla of mine (haven't finished that still); and I didn't label it, but I guess it was 400 girt.

After roughly sanded it, I do a little assembly; drill few holes here and there. . . and here she is with all the parts put together except the tail and ribbon.

Of course, mistake is along the way to success. One of them was when I tried drill a hole in body for connecting the leg, I accidentally drilled through a little bit (image below). I think I can fix that with some putty.

And there are many many places need to be fixed especially the front hair. The detail on it is gone when removing the flash on it, and it got worse when I tried to sand it. . .

The front hair is not quite fit with the back hair. From what I read in some tutorials, I can fix that by heating the piece with hair drier, and change to the desire shape.

Beside all these, the very first thing I want to do is the legs. The gap between body and the legs is kind of big; and because the gap is big, I need to figure out how to position the legs, so they can balance the whole body. Hmmm. . . I thought I had all the tools I needed, but I am missing some epoxy putty.

Catgirl WIP 1

hmmmm. . . messy?

Didn't know that there's so much to fix up for a resin kit. It's a little beyond me, but it's interesting to see how a garage kit is like~ Looking forward to your future progress!

Q,
it didn't seem much when I got it, but when you build, you just find more and more; perhaps it was done by me ^^;
