UJ14

This is UJ14, PSE Products #04 design by Range Murata. And there are not much I can talk about this figure. Therefore, this post is more like photo gallery. I believe this figure was released like two years ago, but I just happened to acquire it recently.

click the image to see a higher-res.

I actually saw this figure in person before I bought it, but the store overpriced it for about 45 dollars, so I bought it online for less than 30 dollars. I think it can be counted as a impulse buy since I didn't know much about the character. I do know about Range Murata (from Last Exile), but that's it.

The quality of this figure is very decent. She is very cute although the font-hair is a bit weird like a claw or something. I think the face is the most important for many figure collectors; it is probably I decided to get her in the first place. I think she looks best from the side, you agree?

Elven - Elwing

Elwing is an elven maiden from PS2 game, the Shining Tears and also the Shining Wind. This figure by Kotobukiya is based on the Shining Wind version. Although I have never played the game and only watched few episodes of the Anime, Shining Tears X Wind, I like the girls from that series alot; or in fact, I like Tony Taka work.

click the images to see a higher-res.

I always wonder what the correct spelling of her name is. Is it Elwing or Elwyn? The box comes with the figure spells Elwing, but in the English version of the Shining Tears, her name spells Elwyn. The Shining Wind art book spells Elwing, so 2 to 1, I am going to use Elwing in this post.

The skin tone on Elwing is a little pale (maybe just mine); that makes her look kinda of sick although she is smiling. The base is just plain green, and nothing else but copy right and where it is made in the bottom. Also you can not have the figure off the base (I believe). Well, I'm not a base lover, so it doesn't really matter to me. I think if you like the Shinig Tears X Wind or Tony Taka work, you should definitely get this figure.

Some closer look at the figure. One thing, I mean two, very standing out are her eyes.

The skirt is cast-off able. I was going to take some pictures with it off, but the camera went out of battery last night. Well, I can at least tell you that she wears white pantsu ^^

Care to Exchange Link?

I did some changed on the blog over last weekend. First I remove the subcategories in the left side bar and replace the categories text link with images which I intend to attract more people to click it. The images is randomly generated from the article icons in each category. I got (or copy) this idea from DannyChoo.com header.

Second, I add a recommended items section in the right side bar in hope I can earn enough money to cover my hosting fee and some extra for my figure collection. This part was not hard to code, but to add the items to database was painful and time consuming. Play-Asia provides some widgets, but I don't like it because it doesn't give the exact products I like to put in the blog. Therefore, I created one myself. I have to find an image for a product, edit the image, get the link from Play-Asia, and add to the database. Although it is really time consuming to just add one item, I couldn't think of an easier way to do it. I got (or copy) this idea from Mukyaa.

Lastly, I change all the links I have added so far into feature feeds. Before, only DannyChoo.com was displayed as feature feed, but other are text or banners which made me feel quite messy in that section; also people will less likely click the one with only text that I think kind of unfair. Therefore, now all got the feed treatment; three feeds are randomly generated in every page in the left side bar. I got (or copy) this idea from DannyChoo.com(again). You can leave a comment here if you are interested in exchange link ^^

src: konachan

I guess you are wondering why there has an Asuka image above? it is because I feel terrible just like her. Well, not really. I have been doing some heavy coding the whole last weekend for my homework(the blog too). Many projects due this week, and I also just found out today that I'm going to have 2 midterm exams tomorrow; I thought one of them was on Wednesday. I have to read the damn five chapters tonight >_<; Maybe all these are the causes of my stomachache right now. ~_~

Saber Alter

This is a new version of Saber Alter by Solid Theater. In my humble opinion, this new one looks better than the original they released on May. However, it is a limited edition for this year Wanfesu Summer. (via Heisei Democracy)

Both figures have the same pose, but only the face is different. The original(below) is really scary to me. Which one do you prefer?

A Box 2

I got another box today. It is a purchase I made the other day. The box is empty now, but what was in it? again check the second image for answer.

They are Yuki Nagato by Max Factory and Range Murata work, UJ14. I'm not sure if I should recommend AnimeBooks to anyone. I did get my items (kinda), and they are in good condition. but it took them more than a week to ship it. They don't have the items in their storage, but have to get them from somewhere else, so that is why took them long to ship it; and I don't have my Haruhi :( Of course, they didn't charge it. Now, I have to email them to check if they have or try to get my Haruhi.

The base for UJ14 is very cool.

Haruhi and Yuki try to get into the pictures too.

A lot boxes pile up in my room again >_<

Why Gonzo doing this?

If you happened to watch the tower of Druaga 11 EP on YouTube, you probably have the same question for Gonzo. This week YouTube has only 5 minutes of the episode 11, and Gonzo is telling all Druaga fans on YouTube to watch the full episode on CrunchyRoll. I don't have any problem with CrunchyRoll, but I have been watching this series on YouTube; and all the sudden Gonzo is telling me I can't watch the rest on YouTube; beside, it is almost the end of the series (final episode this Firday). so what is the point of doing this? Obviously, Gonzo has some deal with CrunchyRoll.

Final Boss

At first, I thought Gonzo goal was to reach more people in the world to know the company, but right now I think they want to get some money through it. In CrunchyRoll, you are able to download the video with a minimal 2 dollar donation. There is nothing wrong with it, but the way they advertising CrunchyRoll on YouTube is going to drive away some fans. I hope this whole thing is just a mistake.

This episode is actually very good, and probably the best so far, but it has to sacrifice someone important. Who? watch it yourself.

Some fan service in this episode.

A box

I found this hlj box at my door when I got home today, so what is inside? See the second image for answer. By the way, I'm surprised that the box was just drop there like that, so everyone lives in the building can pick it up. Fortunately, I don't have any evil neighbor.

So there are two items in the box. In case you don't know them, the right one is Nendoroid Haruhi Suzumiya by Good Smile Company. This is my second Nendoroid purchase; nothing much to say except Haruhi is kawaii!!! I have a question for those also own Nendoroid, can you stand these Nendoroid without the base?

The other one is Enma Ai from Hell Girl. I have just started watching the series, and I have to say the anime is kind of unique. Ai is cute but creepy at the same time. I bought her because I just want to take some pictures of her. Also, this is my first Alter figure. Actually I have another Alter figure, but I believe that one is a bootleg; I will show you guys next time. It is my biggest mistake I ever made so far on figurine collection.

a couple more pictures of Haruhi; I do want to take more, but I got a lot homework at the moment and midterm is next week; a good excuse for not posting recently :p

Seena Kanon

This is a picture-oriented post, so you can skip all the text, and go ahead to check out all the pictures I take for this Seena Kanon from Shining Wind by Kotobukiya.

The rapier is very obviously removable, and so is her hat. The skirt is cast-off able too, but there is not much different because her pantsu is completely showing from behind.

The paint job on mine is not that great, especially the color of the skin(not obvious in these pictures tho). But this is how Kotobukiya quality is; It is not bad but not great, so somewhere in between. The detail on cloth is good through.

Some close shot:

Is that just me? Seena seems to be less popular than other Shining girls. In T2 art, there are more girls with long hair than with short hair. You can check out his works at moe imouto; I can say 99% of his girls have long hair. Perhaps most 2D girls have long hair; but I just like 2D and 3D girls with short hair more. Seena is one of the few.

I guess T2 initially designed Seena with long hair as well. This is a scan from the Shining Wind artbook.

I'm not sure if she is Seena but the whole series only Seena has this red hair, so it has to be her. Is this long hair version better?

I was planning to clean up the whole room last weekend, but I underestimated the messiness of my room.
I put all those DVDs into DVD album, but not sure if I should the cases.

and these are all the figures I have got since last December; total 13 and more on the way. They look great when put together and make my room look more otakuism ^^

I also moved the boxes to my closet, so there is more space for me to move in my room.

For this weekend, I want to clean up this box I use for keeping my Magazines; most of them are Electronic Gaming Monthly; I have been reading it for 4-5 years so there are a lot of them.

Also, I want to clear up these things (not sure what it is call) on my desk; very messy. Thinking to move they to somewhere else so I can use the space to put my figures instead.

Yuki is separated from the group and is the only one left on my desk right now. Does she feel lonely? I think I'm the ronery one, so I have her sit there to keep me company ^^;

More Figma

Before I go to bed, I see this new Figma in Hobby Search pre-order list; and this new Figma is . . . Rin Tohsaka from Fate/Stay Night!!! I think there is no surprise that Rin gets Figma treatment since Figma Saber was released a couple months ago (damn I still haven't got mine). It seems like Figma has conquered my wallet this year ^^;

The images are taken from Hobby Search.

Is Figma Rin on your buy-list? I want to say yes, but...*staring at my empty wallet*...sigh
